Round Cut Diamonds
Of all the diamonds shapes, the most popular by far is the Round diamond. The round cut follows more naturally the rough diamond crystal shape, so it is exceptionally popular for cutting due to the beauty it returns. Use of the word "round" refers to the actual shape of the diamond's table and crown; the crown and table of the round diamond is cut to produce a round shape when looking down through the table. Round diamonds make up the vast majority of diamonds found in engagement rings and are popular as stud earrings and in pendants.
