Pear Cut Diamonds
The Pear cut diamond was created in the 1400’s and particularly popular in renaissance period.Shaped like a teardrop, it combines features of the Round brilliant and the Marquise, with a tapered point on one end. The standard number of facets of a pear cut diamond is 58, allowing for light to pass through it much the same way as in a Round. It works exceptionally well in pendants or earrings, with the point traditionally being worn facing down.
